Form 2 for Engineering
Form 2 Engineering
Prototype & Production
The Engineer's Top Choice
Designers, Engineers, Product Developers, and Rapid Prototypers everywhere are taking their work to the next level thanks to the Formlabs Form 2. The Form 2 empowers users everywhere to further design, develop, and perfect their work. However, the Form 2 doesn't just help users with their work; it also helps them with their work flow.
With the Form 2, users can rapidly prototype in-house to save time and money at every stage of design or product development. Kiss the days of outsourcing designs and waiting for models to be shipped back, goodbye. Instead, operate on agile product development processes, whether it's during the prototyping phase or it's time for final production.
High Performance Materials for High Performance Applications
As the Formlabs Library of Resins continues to grow, Form 2 owners can take great satisfaction in knowing their that opportunities grow with it. Users have access to numerous high performance Engineering Resins designed to simulate a wide variety and range of materials. Material options include:
- High Temp
Cover the full spectrum of properties required to conceptualize, prototype, test, and manufacture successful final products.
The Form 2 Engineering Bundle includes:
- 1 Form 2 SLA 3D Printer

Elevate initial ideas with low-risk concept explorations that look like real products. From CAD to physical object in no time, rapidly develop, evaluate, and iterate a range of designs in-house.
Looks-Like: Test design iterations and communicate ideas to stakeholders affordably and quickly.
Works-Like: Reliably develop proofs of concept and test functional prototypes with materials closely matching common injection-molded plastics.
Feels-Like: Simulate a range of materials from rubber to rigid, and create prototypes with the smooth finish and feel of end products.
Use advanced materials to design for manufacturability. Create small-batch runs or one-off custom solutions for comprehensive field and in-house testing before investing in expensive tooling for production.
With 3D printing, design doesn't have to end when production begins. Continuously improve products and respond quickly and effectively to issues on the line with jigs and fixtures that improve assembly or QA processes.
Incredible Resolution, Large Prints
The Form 2 packs a powerful optical engine that features a 250mW precision laser, guided by custom-built galvanometers, delivering bigger prints with spectacular detail.
Precision, Reliability, Revamped Engineering
With the ability to now create a reliable print process, a new peel mechanism and heated resin tank is incorporated into the Form 2's hardware. This allows for large, solid parts and small intricate details.
Slide Peel Mechanism
With lower peel forces and reduced wear on the resin tank, users can now print big, solid parts.
Each resin tank comes with a resin wiper. The resin wiper improves print consistency by removing any particulates from the build area, properly agitating the resin.
Automated Resin System
The Form 2 prints bigger than before and better than before. With a new integrated resin system, the Form 2 allows for larger prints, less mess, and longer tank life.
Control at your fingertips
Mobile connectivity takes project manage to the next level. Easily send your print jobs across WiFi, reprint previous jobs, and manage your print job queue with a new touchscreen interface and wireless connectivity.
Stay Connected Always
Wherever you are, it is important to stay connected. The mobile Printer Dashboard allows you to access your Form 2 from anywhere with a wifi or cellular signal.
