    Open Material Mode FAQ:

    I have more than one Form printer - does my purchase apply to them all?

    No. Each printer that you'd like to access Open Material Mode on needs a separate purchase. Once purchased, you will receive an individual activation code and go through some firmware updates to adjust settings, and it's on a printer by printer basis. 

    How do I get started once I make my purchase?

    Once purchased, you will receive an activation code and instructions on how to implement. Please note, it may take a few days for you to receive your activate code. 

    What does “open” mean?

    There are two different types of openness:

    1. The ability to edit print settings, typically called “open print settings”
    2. The ability to print with any custom photopolymer resin, typically called “open material access”

    Can I buy bottled resin directly from a resin manufacturer and print with it?

    Once you have purchased Open Material Mode for your specific printer model, you can use resin from any manufacturer. We recommended that you use higher-quality resins. You will have to manually pour the resin into their printer’s resin tank
    and make sure the resin tank does not run out of resin during printing. You will also not be able to use the Resin Pumping System.

    Are there risks associated with printing with modified print settings or printing with custom photopolymer resins?

    Yes, there are additional risks when using PreForm Print Settings Editor or Open Material Mode. Only advanced or expert users who understand these risks should use these features.
